Dollywood was launching a new exhibit and wanted a new experience in their app to coincide with it's launch. This would be a scavenger hunt experience focused on finding digital butterflies through physical QR codes hidden throughout the exhibit.

I was tasked with designing the visuals and UI. This was meant to be on-brand and very "Dolly", so I focused on color, texture, size and making it feel whimsical and having moments of delight throughout.

The Problem

Dollywood was launching the Dolly Parton Experience exhibit and needed a playful digital companion, one that would align with the exhibit's energy but felt authentic to the Dolly brand. They wanted something engaging that would encourage exploration among guests.

The Design

Designed a whimsical, on-brand scavenger hunt UI for the Dollywood app. It guided guests to seek out digital butterflies hidden via physical QR codes. I focused on vibrant color choices, tactile textures, thoughtful sizing, and moments of delight, ensuring the experience captured Dolly’s charm and voice.

The Impact

Created an immersive app feature that deepens guest engagement with the exhibit. The scavenger hunt encourages repeated interaction, enhances brand storytelling through digital-meets-physical play, and adds memorable “Dolly-esque” magic to the overall visitor journey.
